About Farhat
I am a Registered Social Worker and psychotherapist providing client-centered, evidence-based psychotherapy to individuals navigating a range of mental health and behavioral challenges. My practice integrates multiple therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Interventions, Exposure Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing.
I support clients experiencing concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, anger management difficulties, relationship challenges, low self-esteem, OCD-related concerns, PTSD, and substance or alcohol use challenges. My clinical approach is grounded in trauma-informed care, with a strong emphasis on safety, collaboration, and empowerment particularly when working with individuals impacted by past trauma or acute mental health crises.
I am committed to providing culturally responsive and inclusive care, with experience supporting diverse communities, including First Nations and LGBTQ2IA+ individuals. To enhance accessibility and connection, I offer services in English, Hindi, Punjabi, and Urdu, allowing me to effectively support clients from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
